Islamic University of Science & Technology (IUST) in its 4th Board of Studies Meeting, officialy recommended for start of semester system for bsc nursing courses in its two nursing colleges.

Awantipora, Jan 27: 4th Board of Studies meeting of the two Nursing Colleges-Alamdar Memorial College of Nursing and Medica Technology, Chari Sharief and Syed Mantaqi Memorial College of Nursing and Medical Technology IUST Campus was held today through blended mode In view of the COVID-19 restrictions.

The meeting was chaired by Dean Academic Affairs Prof. A H Moon, and was attended by Dean & Principal, College of Nursing, AIIMS Jodhpur Prof. Suresh K Sharma, Prinicipal MMINSR, Skims Soura Prof. Muneera Bashir, Head Dept of Physiology, GMC, Baramulla Prof. Imtiyaz Qazi, Senior Scientist, SKIMS Soura Dr. Arshad Ahmad Pandit, Principal Alamdar College Prof. Mehmooda Regu and Principal, Mantaqi College Ms Asmat Parveen, Mr. Syed Suhail Deputy Registrar Academics IUST Mr. Mohammad Yousuf Assistant Registrar Academics and Faculty member Aamdar College Ms. Bushra Mushtaq.


Prof. Moon detailed various achievements of the university and requested the BoS 
members from outside the State to visit the University to see the progress made by the nursing colleges of the University in a short span of time. He further stressed on strengthening of both the colleges in terms of teaching staff and start of 
vocational courses as per New Education Policy 2020. Besides other issues, Board reviewed the action taken on the previous meeting of BOS and recommended for start of semester system in the nursing colleges for the new batch as per Indian Nursing Council guidelines, start of M.Sc Nursing program at Alamdar Memorial College of Nursing, Chari Sharief, increase in intake from 40 to 60 seats for B.Sc Nursing at Syed Mantaqi Memorial College of Nursing, Awantipora. Earlier, Prof. Regu welcomed the members for their participation especially those members who participated despite being not well due to COVID -19 pandemic.
