TCS and BSNL Set New Records

BSNL, India’s public sector telecom company, has set a new benchmark by partnering with TCS to build a 4G network. After this collaboration BSNL did rapid deployment of 4G technology across approximately 58,000 to 59,000 sites, with equipment delivered by Tata. Out of these, work on 49,000 sites has been completed.

BSNL’s Road To 5G

BSNL is now working aggressively on rolling out its 5G network,  as announced by Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia. BSNL is making constant efforts to strengthen its network, and its 4G rollout with TCS and Tejas Networks is a key step in this direction. The successful deployment of 4G services marks Tata’s significant entry into the Indian telecom system. Tejas Networks, a part of Tata, is also focusing on private 5G networks and BSNL’s commercial 4G network.

BSNL Optimization of Network Sites

TATA is rapidly expanding its network infrastructure. After the success of 2G and 3G, the company has swiftly delivered equipment for the 4G network. Around 58,000 to 59,000 sites have received equipment, and 49,000 sites are fully operational. In October alone, TATA delivered equipment to 10,000 to 12,000 new sites, and another 10,000 are expected to be ready soon.

Out of these, approximately 38,000 to 39,000 sites have already been commissioned, with 400 to 500 sites being commissioned daily. Moreover, TATA is optimizing 1,000 sites every day. Tata has been working on BSNL’s network for a long time and is also in the process of establishing a new data center to support its growing infrastructure.
